SOFCO was present for the eleventh Nordic Conference of Epidemiology and Register-Based Health Research (NordicEpi) in Copenhagen at the beginning of June. The group was represented by Feben Javan Abraham, Katarina Bälter, Susanna Lehtinen-Jacks and Oskar Halling Ullberg. Oskar Halling Ullberg presented his work with the title "A sustainable and healthy lifestyle index and its association with metabolic syndrome among Swedish Office Workers" which shows that high adherence to a healthy and sustainable lifestyle reduces the risk of suffering from metabolic syndrome. Susanna Lehtinen-Jacks presented her work with the title "Identifying office workers from self-reported information about occupation in a large population-based Swedish study (LifeGene)" which is about how we identify office workers in the LifeGene study. It is part of sub-project 3 and an important piece of the puzzle for studying the importance of lifestyle and health in large groups of office workers. All SOFCO employees took the train back and forth to Copenhagen and were very impressed by the cycling culture (many active transports) and a very efficient and accessible subway in Copenhagen.
